BurdaEducation is pleased to announce that we will provide essential textbooks to the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Education Quality Improvement Project (EQUIP). As such, we will edit and print more than 850,000 Kikongo reading and writing textbooks for grades one to three. These will be delivered to the nine provincial education offices where Kikongo is the language of instruction.
Developed in collaboration with World Bank and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), the EQUIP project aims to improve learning in primary schools by providing textbooks in the regional languages of DRC. At BurdaEducation, we look forward to supporting the work of the government of the DRC in supporting access to early education, improving student’s reading skills and enhancing learning outcomes.
This project is being managed through BurdaEducation’s newly created subsidiary in Senegal, Burda West Africa. Pape Dieme (seen in the centre in the picture) will be our representative in West Africa, overseeing this project.
